TabithaEveCo create beautiful handmade cotton and bamboo homeware for a less waste lifestyle, without compromising on luxury. Debbie, the founder, started her own personal war against wastefulness and plastic pollution when travelling and diving the seas of Borneo. Confronted by a plastic island that was home to the precious sea life she had travelled so far to seek out she vowed to try and do her bit
Warm machine wash and air dry
Standard kitchen sponges with the green or white scouring pads are made from petroleum based plastic. They shed microplastics (which have been banned from cosmetics in the UK) as they deteriorate and at best they last a few weeks. Basically they are a complete nightmare for the environment and everyone who uses them.
Avoid the usual plastic scouring pads and go for a natural cotton option that you can disinfect and clean in the washing machine to keep your kitchen healthy and environmentally friendly for years.
