Bread Is Gold
Bread is Gold by Italian Chef Massimo Bottura & Friends is the first book to examine the subject of food waste. It helps you to reduce food waste by presenting recipes of three-course meals from 45 of the world's leading chefs.
Massimo Bottura is considered by many to be one of the world's best chef and chef patron of Osteria Francescana, a three Michelin star restaurant.
‘These dishes could change the way we feed the world, because they can be cooked by anyone, anywhere, on any budget. To feed the planet, first you have to fight the waste’, Massimo Bottura.
Reviewed by Pope Francis himself, his response was: “Throwing away food is like stealing from the table of those who are poor and hungry.”
Massimo Bottura has put into practice what he preaches by launching the Food for Soul organisation which is aimed at fighting food waste through creative management of daily food waste. He has also opened 'Refettorios' (soup kitchens) in locations such as London, UK, that use excess food from supermarkets and local suppliers to provide healthy and seasonal meals for people in need.
