Frequently Asked Questions – Kempii

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you select products for Kempii?

We’ve selected high quality products that help you get your waste footprint down – it’s all explained in the “How does this reduce my waste?” section of each product description. We favour materials like glass, metal or bamboo that are endlessly recyclable or compostable, and won’t end up in landfill. We’ve used most of these products ourselves in our journey to reducing waste, but we’ve also included other products to cater for different tastes and needs. If you’re not sure about a product, check online reviews or even contact the seller directly.

I know a great product or lifestyle tip that would be perfect for Kempii. Can I recommend it for your website?

Absolutely, we love finding out about new ideas and products. Please do get in touch with us on contact@kempii.co.uk

I live outside of the UK. Can I buy these products?

At the moment we’re only set up to operate UK, though we will be expanding in future. In the meantime, feel free to use our Get Inspired posts and seek out similar products locally.

What is a zero waste lifestyle?

Zero waste is a lifestyle that aims to get your landfill waste down to virtually zero, popularised by Bea Johnson. You can find a few TED talks where inspiring Zero Waste advocates explain how they achieved this goal.

Isn't zero waste impossible?

It’s not impossible, but it’s a pretty high bar and takes serious lifestyle changes and dedication. On the other hand, cutting back your waste by up to 75% is readily achievable with just a few changes. Set yourself a goal to reduce your waste and recycling and improve over time.

You want me to buy more? Isn’t that creating more waste?

Ideally, you should be using what you already have. However, sometimes you may need to replace an item or acquire an item to help you change how you do things. For example, buying a reusable drinking bottle will save hundreds of plastic bottles in the long run (and money!). A quality blender in the kitchen allows you to easily make your own sauces, dressings and spreads from scratch, and avoid all the plastic packaging. Of course, if you can find items second-hand, even better!

What if I have a problem? Where can I send complaints to?

All sales contracts are between you and the third-party seller, therefore complaints need to be resolved directly. However, please do let us know of any complaints - contact@kempii.co.uk.
